kenlee25 9 years ago #5. From what I heard, each companion specializes into a certain type. You can't just have all of your warriors as reavers for example. I believe they did this to further specialize the companions. If you notice, their are 9 companions and 9 specialization classes. Weapon types are free to be switched out and specced however. You will now have a quest called “Specializations for the Inquisitor” in your Journal under the “Inquisitor’s Path” section. Go to the War council room in Skyhold, and you will see a new mission on the Ferelden side of the table, called “Specializations for the Inquisitor” . Complete the mission, and you will initiate a cutscene 1. Depending on the console you are using, PlayStation or Xbox, you need to either press R1 / L1 together or RB / LB together. This will select the whole party, and if you press X or A (PS or Xbox), the party will all attack the same enemy. Once you unlock Skyhold, all party members' specializations are also unlocked. But, the game currently doesn't actually add the new skill line to them until they're in your party. Just head to a random camp, grab three people, then use the Change Party option to swap in everyone else as you go.
