Most of Bob Marley 's early music was recorded with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, who together with Marley were the most prominent members of the Wailers. Time Will Tell Lyrics by Bob Marley & the Wailers from the 50 Plus Belles Chansons album - including song video, artist biography, translations and more: Jah would never give the power to a bald head Run come crucify the Dread [Chorus:] Time alone, oh, time will tell … [Chorus] Stop that train, I'm leaving, bеlieve me Stop that train, I'm leaving, I don't mind Stop that train, I'm leaving And I said It won't be too long whether I'm right or wrong I said it won The lyrics for this 1973 track were written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh who were influenced mainly by their Jamaican upbringing. The song is basically about the fight for acceptance of their Rastafarian religion and the need to take action to avoid oppression, however, much of the inspiration appears to have come from another song `Slippin' Into Darkness' by War. It first appeared on Bob Marley and the Wailers' 1976 Island Records album, Rastaman Vibration, Marley's only top 10 album in the USA. (In UK it reached position 15 May 15, 1976.) The lyrics are almost entirely derived from a speech made by Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I before the United Nations General Assembly on 4 October 1963.

One day Neville forgot to bring the songbook to the studio where Bob wanted to work on the song Time Will Tell. Nevertheless the Time Will Tell session took place, but without the full pre-written lyrics. Even the final version, released on the Kaya album, had unusual less verses, so that they put a „to be continued…“ note on the lyrics
