Shell Diesel has made no difference neither has the V power diesel put in at least 5 times in the 15,000 miles done. Symptoms were black smoke and serious turbo lag, was boosting hard around 2.5k rather than normally where it was smoother from 2-3k rpm. Cleaning the EGR has done the trick no smoke.

Obviously a motorhome is an expensive piece of kit, so maybe it is worth using better fuels for longer engine life. Ford are now recommending Shell to all new customers!! I think the secret is Shell V-Power, a nice clean fuel with a much lower carbon and fuller burn. It may cost a little more at the pump, but with Shell points and extra MPG in real world driving it’s amounts to a couple of pence per litre, well worth it and solves all sorts of emission problems.

It seems that you guys like your Shell V-Power Diesel very much despite it's lower cetane rating @ 42 is well below Sunoco Gold Diesel @ 46-yes that 4 cetane points. Even the PC & Sunoco ULSD Diesel cetane rating @ 44 are higher than the SVPD.
